At the first Unpacked of this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which was the first non-Note smartphone with S Pen support. However, the device lacks a dedicated silo for the stylus, and users have to purchase an S Pen compatible case of the S21 Ultra.

At the same event, the Korean tech giant confirmed that it will launch an enhanced version of S Pen in the near future that will come with Bluetooth LE technology in order to enable Air Commands functionality. Do note that the S21 Ultra’s S Pen lacks Bluetooth LE tech and Air Commands.

According to the latest information, Samsung has finally unveiled the upgraded version of the S Pen called S Pen Pro alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This new stylus enables Galaxy Z Fold 3 owners for easier use on the foldable panel even without any damage by the nib.

  • Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity inside S Pen Pro, Smart Select now comes with your clippings along to another device. You can select and collect interesting things and save them, then bring them up again on another screen, making sharing super simple.
  • The S Pen Pro easily connects to your Samsung Galaxy devices, letting you take notes on different screens as needed and even using Air Actions with ease. The connection seamlessly switches between your devices all you have to do is press the button on your S Pen Pro to connect it via Bluetooth.
  • Jot down thoughts and sketch out ideas without worrying about the power in your pen. S Pen Pro easily charges via USB Type C, and a quick 50 minute plug in will get you up to 16 days of battery life
  • S Pen Pro will help make sure you always know where your pen is. You can use your SmartThings app to bring up location information of your S Pen Pro and help you track it down, just the same as your other Samsung Galaxy devices.
