Recently, WhatsApp released a new beta update (2.21.17.1) through Google Play Beta Program for Android smartphone users. This latest update brings bug fixes and improvements for a better user experience.

According to the latest info, many WhatsApp users were reporting an issue related to the older messages aren’t loading. The problem apparently affecting Android users and iOS customers in equal measure.

It crosses all mobile platforms, and as of this writing, there doesn’t seem to be a definitive solution in sight. However, WhatsApp users can try to work around the problem with a bit of tweaking by downloading this latest update.

On the other hand, you can try few fixes that your smartphone and WhatsApp may not be affected.

First things, let’s come up with a more obvious solution by making sure you’re using the latest version of WhatsApp from Google Play Store. It’s up to you if you want to update your existing app or uninstall it first, but if you want to install clean, you may be able to get results by deleting the app cache.

  • Clear WhatsApp cache
  • Make sure you have a valid Google account connected to WhatsApp.
  • Back up WhatsApp chat over Wi-Fi only.
  • Reduce the amount of data WhatsApp has to back up by excluding video.
  • Delete existing WhatsApp chat backups in Google Drive.
