Mozilla lost its 50M Firefox Browser users in the last three years!
On August 9th, a Reddit user nixcraft noticed in Mozilla’s public data report that the Firefox browser has lost 46 million users in the past three years. The Firefox browser still has 198 million monthly active users, but this number was much higher at the end of 2018, about 244 million.
Why does this happen? The most important issue is performance: some people in the community are loyal to the browser, but they have chosen a competitor because of slow speed or incompatibility with the tool.

However, competition is also an important factor. Quite a few people are now migrating to browsers based on Google’s Chromium architecture. It is not only the foundation of Google Chrome, but also the engine behind browsers such as Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, and even Microsoft Edge.
The Edge is currently the second most popular browser in the world, especially after adopting the Chromium architecture, Edge has left the Firefox browser behind.
In order to save users or avoid further losses, Mozilla launched version 89 of the Firefox browser in June 2021, with some new content in appearance and operation.
