Samsung’s maintenance release for Android Auto issues to come in September

It is reported that Samsung will release Android Auto-related issue fixes for Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S21 series in July 2021. Meanwhile, it looks like the company needs more time in order to provide a fix for the frustrating Android Auto issue.

According to the latest news, Android Auto Team’s Community Specialist disclosed that Samsung only released a security patch in July 2021 which doesn’t include fixes for the Android Auto issue. Moreover, the fix update will be released in September as a Maintenance release instead of monthly security updates.

Here’s what Android Auto Team Community Specialist said:

“Samsung has only released a security update in July which does not contain the fix for this issue. Samsung will roll out fix for this issue starting September as part of Maintenance release(MR) and not in monthly security updates.”

What’s the Android Auto issue?

As per multiple reports and complaints on various platforms, it seems that some Galaxy phones become super-finicky about what USB cable they’re using while using Android Auto. Moreover, the device refuses the USB  connection sometimes.

By looking at the video, which is attached below, once you find a cable that works with Android Auto, it doesn’t bring good performance as users want as it presents a quite laggy user interface. Besides, if a user connects the device in an unlocked or locked condition, it remains locked.

Samsung’s One UI 8 offers a smart and cool feature for the lock screen, an Adaptive Clock, that moves around people or pets in your wallpaper. It looks amazing when it works, but right now it doesn’t always work the way it should.

The Adaptive Clock on the lock screen is designed to move and wrap around people or pets in your wallpaper, to make your lock screen look more modern and stylish. It even adjusts its shape and position when you move it in the editor.

Unfortunately, this cool feature doesn’t always behave the way it should. Even on newer phones, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the beta version of One UI 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the stable version, the adaptive lock screen clock feature often fails to show up or stays in a default position.

Sometimes, even if your wallpaper has a clear image of a person or pet, the clock doesn’t adjust at all. It seems like the feature is not able to properly detect the subject in the photo, which means the adaptive effect doesn’t work. This can be frustrating if you were hoping for an attractive look on the lock screen.

How to fix it with a simple trick:

Fortunately, there’s a quick and easy trick that often makes the adaptive clock work. For that, you just need to follow a few easy steps.

First, open the Lock Screen editor on your device, and tap your wallpaper and apply one of Samsung’s decorative frames around the person or pet. Once the frame is added, the adaptive clock usually activates and wraps around the subject.

Now, go back and remove the frame, but don’t change the wallpaper. The adaptive clock effect will stay in place and keep the effect even after you remove the frame.

This isn’t a permanent solution, and Samsung will hopefully fix the issue in a future update. But if you want your lock screen to look its best right now, this trick works well on both the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Currently, new foldable and Galaxy S25 series users can enjoy the One UI 8 feature. Samsung is reportedly working to expand this update to older devices. However, a new report claimed that the company is still preparing a new beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. This might delay the One UI 8 expansion for older devices.

Galaxy S25 Ultra camera flickering reports are rising after the software update. A new video has popped up online, displaying the broken camera functionality filled with flickering problems, allegedly on an S25 Ultra.

In the past, a few Galaxy S25 Ultra owners have noticed their ultrawide camera acting up at the 0.6x zoom. It shakes or vibrates, making photos and videos blurry. A video posted by @Samoneui8 on X shows this shaky viewfinder in action.

Since the phone launched in February 2025, similar complaints have popped up on Reddit and Samsung’s Community Forum. Users mention a rattling noise and an unstable image, which is a real headache for photography fans.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s issue isn’t affecting everyone; millions of phones are out there, but it’s a disaster for those hit by it. Users have tried clearing app data and even resetting phones, but it seems to be a hardware problem.

However, some Samsung Galaxy users have noticed an issue where Bixby doesn’t respond properly after saying “Hi Bixby,” which can be frustrating when trying to use voice commands.

The issues spotted in the Bixby app version v3.7.12.18. In this version, Bixby is not responding properly on some devices. When you say “Hi Bixby,” it suddenly stops working or shuts down without response. This issue does not happen all the time, but it happens often enough to cause problems.

Samsung has confirmed that this issue happens intermittently and affects users who try to give voice commands through the Bixby app. Fortunately, the company has also released a new update for the Bixby app that fixes this problem.

Here’s how you can fix One UI 7.0 Recent Apps screen overlapping

Some Samsung Galaxy users are facing a strange problem in the recent apps view after updating to One UI 7. When they open the recent apps screen, the apps sometimes look messy, like overlapping. This can make it hard to see or switch between open apps.

This overlapping apps issue happens randomly when users check the list of recently used apps. Instead of showing the apps list, the screen sometimes shows them stacked on top of each other or shows leftover images from other apps.

The issue does not happen all the time, but when it does, it can be annoying. It looks like a display glitch and doesn’t affect how the apps actually work.
