New Samsung The Sero s/w update enables viewing content in vertical position for iOS devices

Published

on

In July 2021, Samsung released an update for The Sero TV models – the content viewing is now available for iOS devices. Users just need to connect The Sero to a device using AirPlay 2, with a shared Wi-Fi hotspot, and enjoy content from their favorite program on the big screen.

Back in June 2020, Samsung launched The Sero, which offers a new way to communicate with a TV device – the TV screen is rotated according to the concept of content on the phone screen. The Sero was created to provide the perfect viewing experience for a new generation of users who are accustomed to viewing content upside down from mobile devices.

The Sero TVs use Samsung’s QLED Quantum Dot Technology to deliver extremely true-to-life images and 100% color volume. And to make content at any native resolution look as crisp as possible, it employs 4K AI upscaling: Samsung’s quantum processor automatically analyzes the input video signal, reducing noise, restoring lost detail, and sharpening images and text.

The screen can be rotated horizontally or horizontally – just like how users interact with their smartphones or tablets. Fully optimized to display content from social media, streaming services, and games, it has an attractive design and a completely new user experience.

The high-quality video is complemented by spectacular audio. 4.1 channel 60W Bluetooth speaker with Dolby Digital Plus codec delivers 3D sound throughout the room. The audio system easily connects to your smartphone.

Samsung The Sero Update

Samsung The Sero is the must-have item for innovative millennials. Turn it horizontally to watch your favorite movies, or vertically to enjoy mobile content on the big screen. Time to immerse yourself in an all-new TV experience with Samsung The Sero update.

Samsung smashes target, 64.5 million Galaxy devices made in Q1 2024

Samsung Galaxy S24

Samsung produced 64.5 million Galaxy devices in Q1 2024, breaking its target. The company had aimed to manufacture 53 million units in the first quarter, which has been smashed by a whopping 22% higher production.

TheElec reports that Samsung produced 22% more Galaxy phones and tablets than its target for Q1 2024. The company aimed to manufacture 53 million units, excluding those manufactured by its contract suppliers.

The South Korean tech giant has made 64.5 million units alone during the quarter. Thanks to robust marketing, Galaxy AI pushed the S24 series to sell well, while mid-rangers further helped the vendor gain growth momentum.

The industry now expects that Samsung may increase production to secure enough inventory of current models. This is due to the arrival of new foldable phones in July this year, then the production will shift to new releases.

This year, the company aims to sell 253 million units of Galaxy smartphones. In particular, flagship models including the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z are aimed to reach 51 million units sold by the year end.

Samsung’s Texas semiconductor fab set to begin operation in 2026

Samsung US AI chip

Biden’s govt is awarding Samsung a $6.4 billion subsidy under the US CHIPS Act. As the company gets huge subsidies, it will ramp up its semiconductor production. Samsung will establish an advanced semiconductor fab in Texas, USA, with operations set to commence in 2026.

According to reports, Samsung aims to begin production of second-generation 3nm chips later this year and 2nm next year. In particular, Samsung’s Texas chip fab is scheduled to operate in 2026, and a second one will be completed in 2027 that could focus on 2nm products.

Yesterday, Samsung disclosed its additional semiconductor investment plans in the US. The company has reportedly planned to build state-of-the-art foundries for 2nm process production and advanced packaging facilities to preempt the AI semiconductor market.

Earlier, it was revealed that the US govt pushed Samsung to increase investment in the US by facilitating huge subsidies. As a result, the South Korean tech giant plans to dramatically increase its investment in the country from $17 billion to over $40 billion.

This expansion includes constructing additional foundries and advanced packaging and R&D facilities in Taylor, Texas, alongside the existing foundry in Austin, Texas, which is also slated for expansion and might employ advanced processes.
