Download: Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 get LineageOS 18.1 support
Samsung has already delivered the Android 11 update to most of its eligible Galaxies and started preparation for another Android switch that will happen in near future. The company’s popular Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series are confirmed to get Android 12 update, meanwhile, these devices now gain LineageOS 18.1 support (download).
As spotted on Reddit (via 9to5Google), the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series smartphone users can now taste the flavor of the popular custom skin LineageOS 18.1 based on Android 11. With the addition of these lineups, LineageOS 18.1 is now available for 134 devices.

LineageOS comes with a number of additional features that Android Open Source Project does not carry including button customization, custom quick-setting tiles, live display, lock screen customization, system profiles, custom pattern sizes, and much more exciting features.

LineageOS 18.1 – Only for Exynos variants
LineageOS 18.1 support is now available for the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 line handset, but there’s bad news as well that is the US and Chinese variants (Snapdragon processor versions) won’t be able to run this custom OS. It means, if your device is equipped with an Exynos processor under the hood, you can grab this opportunity to taste Google Pixel-like experience on your Galaxy Note 10 or S10.
Furthermore, it’s not possible to download the LineageOS 18.1 for every Galaxy Note 10 or Galaxy S10 device as it’s currently available for just Galaxy Note 10 (d1). It’s expected that other models users will be able to get it from next week.

In October 2024, Samsung updated its Galaxy Enhance-X app, which brings the popular Camera Shift feature to more devices. This feature helps you take and edit full-body photos easily. If you own a compatible Samsung device, you can take advantage of the Camera Shift feature.
Camer Shift Feature
The Camera Shift feature lets you enhance your photos by focusing on specific subjects. It was initially available only on the Galaxy S24 series, but now it’s expanded to other models.
The latest update includes a simpler and user-friendly design. Instead of navigating through three separate menus, you can now access everything from a single menu.
With improved recognition capabilities, the Camera Shift feature can now better identify children, upper body shots, and group photos. You can also apply special effects to specific people in group images, giving you more creative control.
Moreover, the update also includes a Colorization feature that adds color to black and white images and a Motion Clipper feature to allow you to create GIFs from Motion Photos.

It is worth mentioning that your Galaxy device must be updated on One UI 6.1.1 or a later version to enjoy the new feature of the Camera Shift feature. However, the company is preparing to make these features available for devices running One UI 6.1

How to use One UI 6.1 Camera Shift feature on your Samsung Galaxy
Along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Samsung has officially ended software update support for two more Galaxy devices – the Galaxy M51 phone and Galaxy Tab A7 tablet. This means that these devices will no longer receive any software updates.
Both the Samsung Galaxy M51 and Galaxy Tab A7 were launched in 2020 and came pre-installed with Android 10. They received updates up to Android 12, and are not eligible for more Android updates. Now, these devices have completed their software update cycle.
Although these devices still work well for everyday tasks, users will not get any new features or security patches. This lack of updates can make the devices outdated, as they will not receive important improvements.
Samsung Galaxy M51 and Galaxy Tab A7 have reached the end of their update cycle, after receiving 4 years of updates. Now, users of these devices can think about upgrading to newer models to enjoy the latest features and better security.
Still, both devices are secure and functional for everyday use. The devices run Android 12 and support all major apps, including those for banking, so users can continue to perform their daily tasks without issues. If you want to enjoy the new and advanced features of One UI, newer Samsung models are required.
Bye-Bye Monthly Updates: Popular Galaxy A series phone shifts to Quarterly plan
Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is a well-loved smartphone in the Galaxy A series that has now shifted from a monthly to a quarterly update plan. This means that users of this device will now receive software updates every three months instead of every month.
The Korean tech giant has recently announced its revised update schedule for its Galaxy devices, which places the Galaxy A52s 5G in the Quarterly update category.
Launched in 2021, the Galaxy A52s 5G came with Android 11 pre-installed. Since then, it has received three major Android updates and runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1. However, the device will no longer be eligible for additional major Android OS updates. Users will still receive security updates, which will now be provided every three months.
While the Galaxy A52s 5G will continue to function properly, the shift to a quarterly update schedule means that users may not have access to the latest features and security enhancements as quickly as before.
If you own a Galaxy A52s and are considering an upgrade, you can look at newer Samsung models like the Galaxy A54 and A55. These devices will provide monthly updates and newer features to ensure you stay updated with the latest technology.
Moreover, Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone. It is the first budget phone to offer six years of Android upgrades, providing software support until 2030. This makes the A16 5G an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.
