On June 30, Samsung started releasing a new software update to the Galaxy S10 series smartphones, which installs the latest July 2021 security patch. However, users don’t need to worry about this issue as the Korean tech giant confirmed that it’s rapidly working to fix the face recognition issues as soon as possible. According to the info, the Galaxy S10 5G’s July 2021 update destroyed the ability to recognize the face.
If you are going to do a factory reset of your Galaxy S10, then it’s not confirmed that it will fix the face recognition error. As of now, we don’t have an exact timeline for a fix update, but it’s expected that the August 2021 update could bring optimization for the device’s face recognition.
In early 2019, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 5G smartphone that exclusively comes with a front-facing 3D ToF sensor for advanced facial recognition. Although the company had not enabled this excellent feature at the time of launch, it arrived with the Android 10 (One UI 2.0) update for the device.

In addition to this, some messages frequently pop up on the screen, showing “An unknown error has occurred” or stating that the video codec is not supported. This issue is not limited to Video playback but extends to Video calls.
Users of Galaxy smartphones are not able to see the other person’s video feed. Even third-party applications are affected, with videos failing to play properly.
