Will my A80 get Android 12?
No, unlike the Galaxy A90, the Galaxy A80 is not eligible for three generations of Android OS upgrade support. It means the device will spend its remaining time on the Android 11-based One UI 3.x. However, it could receive the Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1 update later this year.
Released back in April 2021, Android 11 is the last major upgrade for the Galaxy A80 smartphone. The update included all the bells and whistles of Google’s latest Android operating system alongside major UI changes and new features of One UI 3.1 as well.

While this feature provides extra-strong security, it will limit some of your phone’s functions. For example, you won’t be able to transfer files between your phone and other devices using a USB cable.
Moreover, the update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability to enhance overall performance. Samsung is yet to release the details of the November 2024 security patch on its Scope page.
How to Update?
Firstly, make sure your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network to avoid using mobile data. Now, visit your phone’s Settings >> Scroll down and tap on Software Update >> Tap on the Download and Install option. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
After the update is installed, you can turn on the “Auto Blocker” feature in the settings to enhance your device’s security. This update brings useful improvements for Samsung Galaxy S24 users, helping to protect their personal information.
