The most awaited update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series is now live. However, the company still needs to release the July 2021 security update for the latest Galaxy S flagship, but a US network carrier did it for its bounded phones.
According to the info, Xfinity Mobile started releasing the July 2021 security update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in the USA. Along with the latest Android patches, the carrier has included additional patches and improvements from itself.
In the US, Xfinity Mobile carrier consumers can identify this update via PDA version numbers: G991USQS4AUFD, G996USQS4AUFD, and G998USQS4AUFD for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Over the past few days, the Korean tech giant released the same software update to most of its flagship smartphones such as Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy Z Flip. Moreover, select mid-range and budget phones have also received the same treatment.
As it’s a very initial release for carrier-locked Galaxy S21 phones in the US, we have to wait some more time to encounter an international July 2021 security update rollout. Till then, you can check for the updates manually by following the steps given below.
How to check for update manually?
As always, just open your device’s Settings, scroll down then tap on the Software updates menu. Wait for update checking and hit the Download and install button if the device recognizes a new OTA update.
