Samsung releasing July 2021 security update to the Galaxy M11, Galaxy A8 (2018)
July 2021 security patch is now releasing for the Samsung Galaxy M11 and Galaxy A8 (2018) smartphones in different regions. However, the latest patch is hitting these devices through a new firmware update, which is rolling out gradually.
The company recently revealed that the July 2021’s update brings fixes for 41 CVEs from Google and 8 SVEs from Samsung as well. The new firmware updates sport build numbers: M115FXXU2BUF3 and A530FXXSKCUG2 for the Galaxy M11 and Galaxy A8 respectively.

Over the past few days, the company has impressively rolled out the latest Android patch as most of the eligible Galaxy devices have started receiving it in different regions internationally. However, it’s important to mention that the Galaxy S21 series still waiting for the July 2021 security patch update.
Well, the Galaxy M11 is getting the July 2021 update in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, while the United Arab Emirates’ Galaxy A8 users are lucky this month. We can expect a broader rollout of this newer security patch in the coming days.

If you have received the notification of the update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section.
Now, click on the Download and install option. If any update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install the update on your Galaxy smartphone.
Notably, the update is based on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. This device is eligible for the next major One UI update, One UI 7, based on Android 15. Samsung is going to release a stable One UI 7 in January 2025 along with the Galaxy S25 series. After its debut, Samsung will make its wider rollout for all eligible devices.
