Samsung Exynos 2200 AMD RDNA 2

Earlier this year, Samsung announced that the next Exynos flagship processor will feature AMD’s Radeon GPU for advanced graphics performance. With the collaboration with AMD, the company is committed to delivering the most performing chipset ever made.

Ahead of further official details, famous tipster, IceUniverse revealed that currently, Samsung is testing a new Exynos chipset with the AMD Radeon GPU and Cortex-A77 CPU cores. Moreover, the leakster shared a screenshot of the 3DMark graphics benchmarking app.

According to the 3DMark graphics benchmarking app, the new Exynos processor scored 8,134 points in the Wild Life test with an average frame rate of 50fps, thanks to AMD’s GPU. However, the iPhone 12 Pro Max with Apple A14 Bionic chip scores around 7,442 points with an average frame rate of 40fps.

However, it is initial testing and the performance might be changed after further optimization and development, meanwhile, there’s no information appeared regarding the thermal performance of the AMD GPU during sustained load.

Report suggests that the final product (Exynos 2200) could feature more enhanced graphics performance and expected to adopt ARM’s latest Cortex-X2 and Cortex-A710 CPU cores that are quite faster than the Cortex-A77 cores used in the 3DMark test.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra Comparison

Samsung’s One UI 7 update, rolling out this month, brings new features to Galaxy devices. However, Galaxy S24 and S25 users report significant battery drain issues, raising concerns about the update’s impact on performance.

April 2025 update brings smoother animations, enhanced AI tools, and improved security to Galaxy devices. While these changes aimed to elevate user experience, some Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra owners noticed a sharp decline in battery life.

Robin noticed that the battery’s performance has sharply declined on his S25 Ultra after the April 2025 update. He figured out a battery life decline of approximately 20%, leading him to seek feedback on X to verify the difference.

Surprisingly, this sentiment echoes across social platforms, with users frustrated by the reduced performance.

A Galaxy S24 Ultra owner commented, “Before, I charged once per day. Now I’m charging two to three times per day”. Another Galaxy S24 user noted that while design and AI improved, battery life suffered significantly.

Similar complaints surfaced from other users. One S24 user stated, “After the One UI 7.0 update, the battery drains faster”. It seems the Galaxy S24 FE is also affected by a possible bug, with the user reporting “battery drains fast after the April update”.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Dummy

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge phone’s key features and specs have been allegedly revealed in the new leak. A well-known leaker shared an image that appears like a part of Samsung’s official press release or product description.

The leaked image reveals key features of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, ranging from design and camera to performance and software. Samsung is expected to introduce the slim flagship smartphone next month, with a US release likely in late May.

The Galaxy S25 Edge would be quite sleek at 5.8mm, plus lightweight profile at 163 grams. The phone will use Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for display protection, while the middle-frame will be made of Titanium.

In terms of optics, the device could feature a 200-megapixel primary camera. The secondary camera could feature an ultrawwide sensor of either 12-megapixel or 50-megapixel resolution, as well as a 12-megapixel front camera.

Under the hood, the smartphone uses Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The SoC will be paired with 12GB RAM, with storage variants expected to be 256GB and 512GB. Samsung will debut One UI 7, powered by Android 15, with Galaxy AI features.

Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13 in South Korea. Pre-orders may start from May 14 and last a week before the shipments start on May 23. The device is likely to hit the US and Global shelves on May 30 this year.

Apple iPhone 17 may close the gap with Galaxy S25, 12GB RAM likely

Apple iPhone 16 Pro

Apple is reportedly considering bringing 12GB RAM to the upcoming iPhone 17 models, which would ultimately match Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series. Notably, the deal concerned isn’t done yet, as the adoption depends on the supply chain.

Samsung launched the 16GB Galaxy S25 Ultra exclusively for certain markets, but Global units pack 12GB RAM across the lineup; Apple is trying to catch up to the Galaxy S25 series with its iPhone 17 series coming in the second half.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple would be using 12GB RAM in at least three iPhone 17 models. The company also wants a RAM upgrade in the vanilla model, but “potential supply shortages remain a concern.”

If the iPhone 17 misses out on a RAM upgrade this year, it will be inevitable in the iPhone 18 series. Kuo claims that the entire iPhone 18 lineup is expected to be equipped with 12GB of RAM, continuing the push coming this year.

The latest iPhone 16, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max models come with 8GB of RAM. As Apple is debuting AI features in collaboration with OpenAI, there’s indeed a requirement for more RAM to handle the execution and on-device processing.

Larger RAM ensures seamless functionality across the OS. It would surely bring a performance jump to the iPhone 17 models. Integrated with Apple’s chipset, the new iPhones will give tough competition to Android rivals, including the S25 series.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung has accidentally revealed the prices for its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge phone on its own website in Canada. Although Samsung hasn’t officially announced the phone’s price, this leak gives us a good idea of what to expect.

The Galaxy S25 Edge prices showed up in the terms and conditions of a Samsung Canada promotion. It offers a discount on the Galaxy Tab S10 FE tablet when buying a Galaxy S25 phone or home appliance.

As part of the promotion, Samsung listed all the eligible products along with their prices. That list included both versions of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which gives us an early look at how much the phone will cost. The leak was first spotted by well-known tipster Roland Quandt.

According to the listing, the 256GB model of the Galaxy S25 Edge is priced at CAD $1,678.99, while the 512GB model is priced at CAD $1,858.00. In US dollars, that’s around $1,200 and $1,340.
