Released back in April 2021, Android 11 is the latest major upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy A80 smartphone. The update included all the bells and whistles of Google’s latest Android operating system alongside major UI changes and new features of One UI 3.1 as well.

Unlike the Galaxy A90, the Galaxy A80 is not eligible for three generations of Android OS upgrade support. It means the device has to spend its remaining time on the Android 11-based One UI 3.x. Meanwhile, the company is now rolling out a new firmware update that improves system security.

Identified via PDA release number A805FXXU6DUE2, the new Galaxy A80 update installs the May 2021 security patch for better system stability and security. Furthermore, it also enhances the stock apps and functions for a better UX.

Just like every time, the firmware is currently rolling out in select countries including UAE, and Malaysia. We will soon see a broader rollout once the company ensures its stability. Till then, you can check for the updates manually by opening device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
