At the I/O 2021, Google introduced the next generation of its smartphone operating system – Android 12. At the same time, the company has also announced the Beta program for select premium phones from nearly a dozen of OEMs in order to develop and enhance the stability of this new OS.
Unsurprisingly, Samsung is not participating under the Android 12 Beta activity following its tradition as it will release another Android 11-based One UI iteration (One UI 3.5) alongside the next flagship smartphones this summer. Well, the company will begin the adoption process of Android 12 for Galaxies after its stable release.

Samsung Galaxy Android 12 One UI 4.0
If the history is any indication, the next generation of Samsung’s custom skin for Galaxy devices will be called One UI 4.0. The company will launch the Android 12 Beta for its developers in September this year, just after the stable release of Android 12 for Google Pixel phones.
But, here, we’re talking about a handful of leaked Samsung Android 12 features of the Galaxy smartphones. As written above, a user showed off his Galaxy phone running One UI 4.0 on top of Google’s latest Android 12 OS by sharing a video on Reddit.
If we go with the alleged video, the user interface of the Galaxy smartphone suggests that Samsung adopted the radical design changes of the Android 12 version. The Galaxy models’ traditional quick panel shortcuts such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Hotspot, and Flight Mode have been replaced with a new “Network & Internet” section.
It’s just beginning, following the Android 12’s major UI changes, Samsung has also reimagined the Mobile Networks section for Galaxies in order to bring a clean user interface.
Therefore, the radical changes also reveal that the One UI 4.0 update will integrate the SIM Card Manager and Data Usage functions along with additional settings to adjust the SIM name and color of the specific interface.
In the short clip, we found that the Samsung phone’s “Mobile Hotspot and Tethering” has turned to “Tethering & Portable Hotspot” and got a revamped design, which looks quite identical to the hands-on of Android 12 Beta running Google Pixel phones, while the Mobile Hotspot is now called Wi-Fi hotspot.
Aside from this, the leaked video showcases that Android 12’s massive Material You design system, which lets users change the color of the entire OS by just changing the wallpaper, frequently prompts for reboot the phone as well as lags too much. That’s all about the alleged video folks!
Is it a real Galaxy phone running Android 12?
However, it’s the first time in history when an upcoming software system leaked on a social media platform. Meanwhile, users also shared their thoughts in reply to the alleged One UI 4.0 video that this is a mid-range Galaxy phone and the video seems to be recorded in Bangladesh.
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung has its R&D Center in Bangladesh where it works on the development and tests of various software systems. Lastly, we can not confirm the reliability of this video showcasing the Galaxy smartphone running Android 12-based One UI 4.0.
But, we can confirm that Samsung will introduce the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 version most probably in late September or early October this year. You should read all the One UI 4.0’s latest news, release date, features, eligible device [Confirmed List] in our dedicated article. [Linked at bottom]
