Samsung Galaxy A70

Launched back in the first half of 2019, the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A60 are some of the top-selling mid-range smartphones from Samsung. These devices ships Android 9 based One UI 1.x out of the box along with two generations of Android OS upgrades support.

Last year, both of these smartphones had received their first major upgrade in the form of Android 10, followed by Android 11-based One UI 3.1 a few months ago. However, the Galaxy A70 successor is listed for three major upgrades.

Although it’s officially confirmed that the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A60 are not eligible to get the Android 12 update, these device owners speculating whether they will get One UI 3.5 update or not.

And now, it looks like that the company is not in a mood to offer another One UI iteration to the Galaxy A70 and A60 devices as these phones get listed in the Biannual updates family.

It means these phones will now receive only two new software updates that will include new security. After that, Samsung will end software support for these devices.

Samsung One UI 3.5 is expected to debut this summer along with the upcoming flagship smartphones. It is rumored that the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S21 FE will come with the Android 11-based One UI 3.5 out of the box.

Samsung One UI 7

Samsung Galaxy S25 series may receive a new software update next month. Earlier, it was anticipated to bring key enhancements, but the development for the Galaxy S25 series appears to have dropped from the May 2025 release window.

As conveyed by Alfaturk, Samsung apparently delayed a major update for the Galaxy S25 series. A new firmware update is indeed incoming, but it might be limited to installing the latest May 2025 security patch to the system.

The latest build has drastically changed the bootloader and minor version. The recent build contains “S3” and “DA” replacing the previous “U2” and “DB”. This shift in version number indicates that the May release won’t be a significant one.

Earlier, it was rumored that the Galaxy S25’s May 2025 update may bring key enhancements. Improvements related to the camera (photography and videography) were being tested but pulled off due to unforeseen reasons.

The software update may still install newer versions of some stock apps. The system launcher and stock camera apps would still be updated. However, it depends on the remaining phase of testing as the rollout hasn’t yet started for users.
