Samsung releasing new Screen Recorder feature for Galaxy A42 5G in the US

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy A42 5G as an affordable 5G smartphone in some European countries and the US. Moving on, the company launched its rebadged version Galaxy M42 5G in India last month, which comes with the same specifications and up-to-date software system.

Now, the Galaxy A42 5G started receiving a new software update in the US, which comes with security improvements and a new user-friendly feature. According to the info, Verizon locked Samsung Galaxy A42 5G smartphone users are now receiving the May 2021 security patch via OTA (PDA: A426USQU2AUE2).

Aside from this, the new Galaxy A42 5G also brings improvements to the Quick Share function for enhanced file sharing to other Android devices. Furthermore, it also includes a new and useful feature called Screen Recorder, which will be accessible from the Quick Panel.

If you’ve not yet received the notification to download the May 2021 security update, then you can also check for it manually by navigating to device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

Reminder: However, the Galaxy A42 5G shipped with Android 10, and as per the company’s software upgrade policy, it is eligible for two major Android upgrades. It means you will be getting the One UI 3.5 update (Android 11) later this year, followed by Android 12 next year.

Samsung has rolled out the first software update for the Galaxy F15 5G smartphone, which installs the latest Android security patch released in April 2024. It improves system security by stability by fixing over 40 issues to provide an enhanced experience.

Users can recognize the first software update of the Samsung Galaxy F15 through the One UI build versions E156BXXS1AXD3 and an installation package of 258.39MB. The update is rolling out for users in India.

Samsung Galaxy F15 smartphone features a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC for robust performance.

Talking about the camera, the smartphone offers a 50 MP main, a 5 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro, and a 13 MP front camera. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and operates on Android 14-based One UI 6. This device will soon get a One UI 6.1 update.

If you have received the notification of the April 2024 update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section. Now, click on the Download and install option.
