The Galaxy A71 is one of the most selling smartphone offerings from Samsung, which was launched last year. This device came with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box and currently running the One UI 3.1 on top of the Android 11 operating system.
However, this device had received the Android 11 update around two months ago, and it belongs to the quarterly update family, the company started releasing a new s/w update, which comes with a newer security patch. Initially released in Brazil, the new Galaxy A71 update bears version number A715FXXU4BUE1.
If we go with the changelog, this update installs the latest May 2021 security patch in order to increase system security. At the same time, it also brings enhancements to the system software and stock functions for a better overall user experience.
To check for software updates manually, just open device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install>> Install now.
Reminder: As you know, the Galaxy A71 launched with Android 10 and as per the company’s software upgrade policy, it is eligible for three major Android upgrades. That means you will be getting the One UI 3.5 update (Android 11) later this year, followed by Android 12 next year, and Android 13 in 2023.
Thanks for the tip – Anny!

Samsung One UI 5 Beta introduces Per-app language feature
Samsung’s Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta 1 is live for the Galaxy S22 users in select regions. The new custom OS brings multiple new features and countless changes over the One UI 4.1. We are continuously exploring the One UI 5 beta elements, the latest is the Per-app language feature.
Multilingual people might understand the sentiment of setting the whole system language to one language when you want to select other languages for specific apps. Your Samsung smartphone supports various languages for so long. Still, you can only set a single language for the system.
Meanwhile, Samsung has changed this with the One UI 5, which introduces the Per-app language feature. Primarily a feature of Android 13, the per-app language allows users to select a different language preference for each app.
The company has developed this feature, especially for multilinguals, who prefer to use different languages depending on the situation and change the way they communicate from one instance to another.
For example, you might like to use a social media app in English while news provider, banking, and other applications in your mother language or the area you belong to. This can also be really helpful for older people who don’t understand English as good as they can operate the whole phone with it.
Whereas, the Per-app language makes it possible to drive applications under the same set of locations on Android settings. It allows applications to change locale preferences at runtime using the newly introduced API.
However, it should be noted that the availability of this feature may vary depending on the apps. It could be possible that some third-party apps do not support this feature and these apps may work best in English or another language. Currently, we are not sure which apps support it or which don’t.
If you are one of the Galaxy S22 series users running on One UI 5 beta, you can access this feature through the specific app info or settings. Also, you can search for it on your phone’s settings.
