Samsung Galaxy Note 20 at T-Mobile/Sprint gets May 2021 update, Camera improvements
While Samsung had already updated most of its Galaxy devices to the May 2021 security patch, the US carriers are giving a similar treatment to bounded smartphones and tablets, as the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are now receiving new security updates.
T-Mobile and Sprint started sending new firmware update to the Galaxy Note 20 series in the US. It’s not just a minor s/w update as it brings the May 2021 security patch (however, Samsung started releasing the June patch), and improvements to the system functions for a better overall user experience.
In addition to the May patch, the new Galaxy Note 20 lineup update improves the performance of the Camera for better photography. At the same time, it also enhances the Quick Share function for better file sharing across Android devices.
If you own one of the Galaxy Note 20 series phones, you can identify the update via build numbers: N981USQU2DUE1 and N986USQU2DUE1 for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra respectively. It’s worth noting that Samsung is impressively advancing s/w support, but the US carriers are not doing the same.
Well, like every time, this is an initial rollout so the update could take some time to reach every Galaxy Note 20 unit in the US. Till then, you can manually check for the software updates by navigating to your device’s Settings, then select the Software updates, and tap on Download and install.

October 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy S24 FE smartphone arrives with One UI build version S721BXXS2AXI5. The update installs the latest security patch to improve system security and stability.
The Korean tech giant is releasing a fresh software update that includes security improvements to help keep your files and data safe. It also enhances system stability for smoother performance on your device.
Additionally, the update addresses various vulnerabilities, although specific details about the October 2024 patch have not yet been disclosed. It is expected that Samsung will soon update patch details and the device list on the scope page.
The fresh update is currently spotted for Galaxy S24 FE users in India and may also be available in more countries soon. If you haven’t received a notification yet, you can check manually.
To do this, go to the Settings app on your smartphone, then open the Software Update section. Click on the Download and install option. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE starts its update journey with September 2024 patch
We are in October 2024 and Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy A33 5G smartphone, which brings the September 2024 security patch to improve system security and stability. The update is available for users in Brazil and the company will soon expand it to more countries.
September 2024 security update fixes several Samsung and Google vulnerabilities to make the device’s performance smoother. It includes 1 critical issue and 43 high-level ones for Google. One of these issues was already fixed in earlier updates, and another one doesn’t impact Galaxy devices.
In addition, Samsung is adding 23 of its fixes to improve security. These vulnerabilities are mainly related to My Files, Theme Center, One UI Home, Knox, and Dex. This update makes the smartphone more reliable, secure, and stable.
Users of Samsung Galaxy A33 5G are getting a September 2024 security update with One UI build version A336MUBSAEXI8. They will have to download a 262MB package to install the update. It is an initial rollout so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.
If you have received the notification of the update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section.
Now, click on the Download and install option. If any update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install the update on your Galaxy smartphone.
Notably, the update is based on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. This device is eligible for the next major One UI update, One UI 7, based on Android 15. Samsung is going to release a stable One UI 7 in January 2025 along with the Galaxy S25 series. After its debut, Samsung will make its wider rollout for all eligible devices.
