Samsung Galaxy M31s, Galaxy M51 get May 2021 update with Google RCS and more
Samsung started releasing new software updates to the Galaxy M31s and Galaxy M51 smartphones. Do note that these are not just security improvements as the changelog shows a newer security patch, new and advanced chat features, better data protection, and more.
Talking about the Galaxy M31s, the new firmware update comes with the May 2021 security patch. Identified via release number M317FXXU3CUE1, this OTA initially rolling out in Russia. We can expect a broader rollout of the Galaxy M31s update in the coming days.
Coming to the Galaxy M51, along with the new security patch dated 01-05-2021, Samsung included improvements for the Quick Share function for better file sharing between Galaxy devices. It’s worth mentioning that the M51 update is presently spotted in Brazil, which brings Google RCS support and improvements for the overall stability.
Apart from this, the Brazilian Galaxy M51 update also implements the new law of the European Union’s GDPR regulation and “attempts to unify the over 40 different statutes that currently govern personal data, both online and offline, by replacing certain regulations and supplementing others.”
