Google shows off advanced Wear OS ahead of Google I/O
Google Wear OS development team has recently tweeted that they will be talking about the long-awaited OS changes this week, ahead of the beginning of Google’s annual developer conference, better known as Google I/O.
Samsung is expected to launch its next generation of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 in the second half. And surprisingly, these wearables will run Google’s Wear OS instead of its Tizen OS.

For a long time, a massive update for the Google Wear OS has been anticipated. And a recent report revealed that the upcoming Galaxy watches will feature One UI 3′ skin on the top of Wear OS.
Presently, Google’s Wear OS comes with excellent support for third-party apps, countless watch faces, easy customization, better compatibility with smartphones, advanced and secured privacy, and much more.
Since Google acquired Fitbit, there have been speculations that the former will ultimately include new elements from the latter’s operating system in Wear OS. It is also said that Fitbit will also produce Google-branded wearables, however, it might be officially exposed today.

One UI 8 Watch Beta closed in the US – Here’s what Samsung just revealed

Samsung is no longer recruiting One UI 8 Watch 7 and Ultra Beta participants in the US. The company has temporarily closed the Beta signups in the country, but shared important information about the Beta Program.
On June 30, Samsung opened the One UI 8 Watch 7 and Ultra Beta Program in the US. The Program indeed started, users have enrolled, and even upgraded to the new OS. But some users were not able to join the Beta and install the new OS.
The reason is: very limited availability.
One UI 8 Watch Beta isn’t available for all users of Watch 7 and Watch Ultra in the US. This information was specifically mentioned in the Beta banner, but sparked a debate as users were not able to get the Beta update.
One UI 8 Watch Beta eligibility
- Galaxy Watch 7
- Bluetooth – No carrier restriction
- LTE – T-Mobile users
- Galaxy Watch Ultra
- Only for T-Mobile users
There’s no Bluetooth-only variant of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, so the Beta Program is available for those who have a T-Mobile plan activated. If you’ve bought the Watch directly from Samsung without adding/activating a T-Mobile line, the Beta isn’t for you.
The case is a bit confusing for the Watch 7 users. If you have a Bluetooth-only version, you may have upgraded to the Beta software. For those having the LTE variant, the requirement is the same as Watch Ultra, a T-Mobile plan.

More Beta slots – When to expect?
Samsung will reopen the One UI 8 Watch Beta at the time of releasing the second Beta firmware. More slots will be made available so more users can join and experience the new software. Meanwhile, Samsung is unlikely to ease the Beta eligibility criteria.
So in case you’ve an eligible Watch and T-Mobile plan, get ready for the Beta 2 release. When the Beta 2 rollout begins, you will be able to join the Program through Samsung Members and upgrade to the pre-release firmware.

Leaked Galaxy Watch 8 faces reveal Samsung’s most stylish designs yet

The Galaxy Watch 8 series will launch with new stylish watch faces, which have just been revealed in Samsung’s own app. Samsung’s Unpacked event is set for July 9 in New York City, where the Galaxy Watch 8 series will debut.
Galaxy Watch 7 Manager app’s teardown by AndroidAuthority exposed that the APK resources include names, banner images, and descriptions for most watch faces, offering a glimpse into Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 aesthetics.
Note that the leak showcased 7 categories of watch faces, which are detailed below, followed by reference images in 1 to 7 sorting.
The Minimal Analog Watch Face features clean lines that complement the Galaxy Watch’s sleek design. It’s simple yet elegant, perfect for users who prefer a minimalist look on their wrist.
The Minimal Digital Watch Face offers bold colors and clear numerals. Subtle embossed details add a vibrant yet refined touch, making it ideal for everyday wear with a modern flair.
The Sporty Classic Watch Face combines lifelike chronographs with realistic materials. Its sophisticated design delivers a dynamic look that feels both active and polished.
The Heritage Classic Watch Face reimagines the guilloche pattern, blending timeless texture with quiet luxury. This face adds a touch of tradition and elegance to the Galaxy Watch 8.
The Interactive Number Watch Face brings high-contrast time blocks and racing-inspired numerals. Its track-side energy makes it a bold choice for users who want a standout design.
The Gradient Info Board Watch Face shifts with soft gradients that reflect the time of day. Inspired by nature, it mirrors the changing hues of earth and sky for a calm aesthetic.
Finally, the Circle Info Board Watch Face was also uncovered, though its description is missing. Its inclusion suggests Samsung is exploring diverse styles for the Galaxy Watch 8.
Samsung will surely have even more new designs to reveal at the Unpacked this month. With Watch 7 Manager holds these faces inside, high possibility that existing Watch owners would receive some of the new designs with OTA updates.

Galaxy Watch 8 Classic uncovers in live images with bold new shape

Samsung’s official Galaxy Watch 8 Classic reveal is just days away, but the upcoming smartwatch has now been uncovered in new live images. The wearable will feature a bold new shape, inspired by the squircle design of Watch Ultra.
We are well aware of the fresh appearance of Samsung’s new smartwatches. Meanwhile, the newly leaked live images come from leaker Setsuna Digital via Weibo, which showcase the smartwatch’s new squircle design profile.
It’s a complete refresh over the previous Watch models. Samsung first debuted this design with the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year. Now, the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic continue the legacy, with Classic adding a rotating bezel.
Galaxy Watch 8 Classic live images reveal a new design profile. Samsung has abandoned the total circular shape with its next wearable lineup, and it might be seen in a Fan Edition model, probably later this year or early next year.
Leaked images reveal a metal watch body combined with a leather band. It has two buttons on the left side and a physical rotating bezel. It’s not a rugged model like Ultra but offers better durability than its predecessors.
Talking about bezels between the screen and frame, this aspects has improved greatly. The bezels are now thinner, making the watch look even more premium and seamless. Durability wouldn’t be any concern, thanks to the new squircle design.

Last year, Samsung introduced two premium watches: Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. These models succeeded the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. Now, the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are coming this year, along with a 2025 Watch Ultra.
Samsung will be holding an Unpacked event on July 9 in New York. At this event, the company will introduce the Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip FE, Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, Watch Ultra 2025, and the new One UI 8 software with upgraded Galaxy AI.

Galaxy Watch 8 design confirmed in a Samsung app, and the new features look game-changing

Samsung has just confirmed the Galaxy Watch 8 design and new features through the Health app. The company is set to reveal new wearables with a fresh One UI Watch OS on July 9, and the latest leak spikes the Unpacked hype.
Galaxy Watch 8 Design
Galaxy Watch 8 and Classic bring a Watch Ultra-inspired design. The new appearance is squircle, which keeps the screen circular but revamps the dial to squircle. We’ve seen the design renders plenty of times over the past few weeks.
Well, it’s the first time Samsung has showcased the redesigned watches through its own app. The Health app’s latest Beta carries new Watch 8 design elements. The update also sheds light on two key features that will take center stage at Unpacked.
One UI 8 Watch Features
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8s will launch new “Antioxidant Index” and “Vascular Load” features. These new additions are a part of the Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch operating system, which will soon be available in the Beta Program.
As shown in the Health app, both of these features are categorized as “Labs” features. Samsung also noted that these are just supported on the Watch 8 series or higher; however, an expansion would take place later for select older models, too.

The app also includes a visual illustration of the new smartwatch. The clip has a tutorial to run an antioxidant measurement on the Galaxy Watch. It will require you to take the watch off and place your thumb directly over the sensor on the back.
Samsung Unpacked July 2025
There’s a mega Unpacked event scheduled for July 9 in New York. At the event, Samsung’s going to introduce new foldable phones, Wear OS watches, Watch Ultra 2025 version, Android 16-based One UI 8, as well as teasing the XR Headset.

Samsung quietly confirms Galaxy Buds Core with unexpected premium features

Samsung has briefly revealed some of the premium features of its upcoming Galaxy Buds Core. The company’s new budget earbuds are just days away, and the official listing confirmed it doesn’t compromise on signature features.
Recently, Samsung UAE briefly listed the Galaxy Buds Core product, revealing its premium features. The new affordable earbuds will still have features like ANC (active noise cancellation) and a long-lasting battery.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Core with model number SM-R410 is set to launch in India on June 27. The affordable earbuds might cost even less than the Buds FE. Meanwhile, the company isn’t abandoning signature Buds functions.
Similar to the Galaxy Buds FE and Buds 3 Pro, Samsung’s cheaper solution is equipped with active noise cancellation technology. This feature ensures an immersive listening experience by removing noise from the surroundings.
Samsung allegedly claimed that the Galaxy Buds Core would be the longest battery life earbuds in the Galaxy lineup. The earbuds could last up to 35 hours on a single charge, while enabling ANC will reduce the overall battery life.
Note that the company’s flagship Buds 3 Pro come with 20-hour battery life with ANC. The backup extends by a few hours if the ANC is turned off; however, using such premium earbuds without ANC doesn’t make any sense.
In addition, it has been revealed that the Buds Core will be packed with Bluetooth 5.4 and three audio codecs: AAC, SBC, and SSC. Codecs like AAC and SSC will ensure immersive audio quality thanks to their high bitrate audio transmission.
Last but not least, Samsung’s Buds Core is said to weigh 5.3g each, measure 19.2×17.1×22.2mm, and both pack a 65mAh battery. The charging case (EP-QR410) measures 50x50x27.7mm and weighs 31.2g, containing a battery with 500mAh capacity.
