Presently, smartphones from several OEMs come with Google’s official Phone app instead of the phone maker’s own developed dialer app. However, the Google Phone is known as a truly secure dialer app when it comes to privacy reliability and protection.

Google Phone lets you easily connect with family and friends, block spam callers, and know who is calling you before you answer. It features a lightweight design to keep your favorite people just a tap away alongside the impressive dark mode, which saves battery and reduces eye strain at night.

Last month, Google released a long-awaited Call Recording feature to the official Phone app users. Now, the search engine giant began to deliver a basic feature that was missing so far. According to XDADevelopers, Google has added a new Caller ID announcement feature in the Google Phone app, which can be founded as a new setting.

After updating to the latest version of the Google Phone app, Android smartphone users can enable Caller ID announcements for all calls or just for calls received while using a headset. At the same time, you can also disable the Caller ID feature completely.

WhatsApp Call Links Group

WhatsApp is updating its app for Android devices with a useful feature for group calls with a new update. The latest version arrives with version 2.24.19.14 and is available through the Google Play Beta Program.

With the latest update, WhatsApp brings a new ability to create call links directly within group chats. Before, you had to go to the calls tab to generate a link for voice or video calls. Now, the latest update lets you make a call link from the chat itself.

Through this update, you don’t need to ring everyone in the group to start a call. Instead, you can share a link in the group chat to join the call. The new feature makes it easier to start and join calls in group chats.

Once you create the link, you can easily send it to the group, and members can join the call by clicking the link whenever they want. It’s particularly useful for big groups or people in different time zones who may not be available at the same time.

The call link feature of group chats is currently available through the WhatsApp beta update. The company will soon make it available for all users in upcoming stable updates.

Facing Google Maps app crashes on Android? Try this quick fix

Google Maps Crashing issues

Several Android users have recently reported that Google Maps keeps crashing. The issue affects Android users using both stable and beta versions of the app, specifically with versions 11.144.x and 11.145.x.

Users on various Android devices including Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones have noted that Google Maps opens normally but then closes suddenly after a few seconds. This makes the app unusable for checking maps or getting directions.

Notably, the issue seems to be more common for those on the Android 15 Beta, though people with the stable version are also facing the same.

If you’re experiencing this issue, you can try a temporary solution to fix it. You can uninstall recent updates of Google Maps, just need to go to the App info page, and tap on the Uninstall updates option and this may help to fix.

Since Google Maps is often preinstalled on devices, you can’t completely uninstall it. Older versions of the app don’t seem to have this problem, so rolling back to a previous version could be a solution for now.

As of now, Google hasn’t acknowledged the issue or commented on releasing a fix. Not everyone is having this issue, so if your Google Maps is still working, that’s good. If you facing the Google Maps issue, you need to pause updates until this issue is resolved. Stay tuned for updates from Google for a permanent solution.
