WhatsApp working to add a new section to present UPI Payments
Last November, WhatsApp began the payments service for its users in India, which lets them send and receive money as simple as sending a text message. To enable the Pay functionality, WhatsApp uses the UPI method, which is India’s first real-time payment system.
However, the Facebook-owned company has not yet rolled out the payments feature for every user, but Indian consumers can enable it to send Payment requests.
As of now, the Payments requests are the only way to enable the feature for a contact. It’s worth mentioning that it is totally free and allows UPI Payments for the recipient of the request.
In the latest development, WhatsApp is preparing to add a new section to present UPI Payments, reports WABetaInfo. Currently, it’s not confirmed that whether WhatsApp is working on this new section or not.
Meanwhile, the popular messaging app could also announce that it is allowing everyone in India to send UPI Payments by default without any payment request, which means a wider rollout of the UPI Payments service.
WhatsApp features tracker also shared some screenies of the user interface of the expected section. It is expected that the user will normally configure UPI Payments and, after linking a bank account, you can send and receive money on WhatsApp.
However, this feature is currently under development and available for only a limited number of WhatsApp beta users. The latest WhatsApp Android beta update can be identified via build number: 2.21.10.11.

WhatsApp has released a fresh update for beta users on Android with version 2.24.21.26. This update introduces a new feature that gives users more control over how their contacts are synced across different devices on WhatsApp.
The latest update allows users to add, edit, or delete contacts from any device linked to their WhatsApp account, such as tablets or computers. It means that any changes made on one device will automatically sync to all other connected devices. It helps contact list up-to-date no matter where you are.

Moreover, WhatsApp also adds extra security by using cryptographic hashes to protect the phone numbers of contacts who aren’t on the app. This ensures that user data remains safe while still allowing WhatsApp to monitor for any unusual activity related to contact uploads.
Users can still chat with their existing contacts as the app remains fully functional, even with contact syncing turned off. If someone switches to a new phone or reinstalls WhatsApp, their linked contacts will automatically be restored easily.
WhatsApp contact syncing feature was already available to iOS users, and now Android beta testers can enjoy the same benefit. As the update rolls out, more users will have the chance to try this privacy feature.
