In late April 2021, the Galaxy S21 became the first smartphone lineup from Samsung that had received the May 2021 security patch in select regions such as Europe. Later on, this firmware update reached more countries including Asia, the United States, and more.

Surprisingly, the South Korean giant pushed another software update to the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S20 lineups, which also included the same changelog along with the May 2021 security patch. However, the company further updated the details of this patch and confirmed that it fixes the new vulnerability of Qualcomm’s 5G modem.

In a recent development, Samsung is pushing a new firmware update to the latest Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra phones in India. Just like the European OTA, this update brings fixes for the recently found vulnerability of Qualcomm’s 5G modems alongside fixes for 23 CVEs from Samsung.

Users can identify this update via release numbers: G998BXXU3AUE1, G996BXXU3AUE1 and G991BXXU3AUE1 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 respectively. The changelog shows that this update brings system stability improvements and function enhancements.

Previously, the Galaxy S21’s 1st May 2021 software update came with major Camera and Quick Share improvements. At the same time, Samsung provided a new Camera feature called “Dual Recording” to the older Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 smartphones.
