Lawsuit filed against Samsung and two others for manipulating DRAM prices
Previously, research institutions and industry chain professionals have repeatedly predicted that global DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) contract prices will rise in both the first and second quarters of this year, and the increase in the second quarter will be higher than the first quarter.
Following the increase in DRAM contract prices, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology are the three major DRAM manufacturers that will get benefit from it. But, it looks like that these firms are currently in trouble as they have been sued by a US law firm for making profits by manipulating the DRAM prices.
According to the report, Hagens Berman, an American law agency accused Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology of manipulating the DRAM market. They initiated a class-action lawsuit in the Federal District Court of Northern California.
Furthermore, the law firm claimed (page no.147) that the price of DRAM dropped sharply due to fierce competition, but Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology reduced the production and supply of DRAM in 2016 to increase the prices of DRAMs to make a lot of benefits.
On behalf of American consumers who bought smartphones and PCs in 2016 and 2017, Hagens Berman sued Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology. The firm believes that these companies were the reason behind increasing more than 130% price during the same period.
Following this, the profits of these major manufacturers have doubled, at the same time, American consumers have to pay higher prices for this.

Hey, Google! Huawei AppGallery bringing paid Android apps for free

After Galaxy Store, the Google Play Store is the second biggest option for Samsung consumers to download and install Android apps. There are millions of apps available on the Google Play Store including free of cost and paid too, meanwhile, Huawei AppGallery is reportedly bringing paid Android apps for free, LOL!
Well, this is not any program initiated by the US-banned Huawei, but, it’s happening because of a flaw (fault) in the AppGallery. As per the information, an Android Developer discovered a new exploit in the Huawei AppGallery store that offers no protection for paid apps.

Right now, consumers can get a valid APK download link for premium apps through the AppGallery store, without any type of payment. It seems like Huawei is aware of this severe issue and has acknowledged it (via Huawei Central), however, it’s not fixed yet making its use possible for app piracy.

Following the US sanctions in the past years, Huawei has been restricted from using Google Mobile Services for its devices. Accordingly, the Chinese company has created its own suite of apps and services such as the AppGallery store, which allows Huawei devices to install Android apps in the lack of the Google Play Store.
