Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 receive Director’s View-like Dual Recording camera feature w/ May 2021 security update
Launched back in January 2021, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series comes with the most powerful hardware and the latest software combination. As the Galaxy S lineup includes camera focused smartphones, the latest S21 phones also highlight multiple camera features.
Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 receive Director’s View-like Dual Recording camera feature w/ May 2021 security update
Director’s View is one of the most remarkable camera features included with the Galaxy S21 models. This new camera function shows the preview of all of the rear camera lenses on the viewfinder at the same time while recording videos. Besides, it also allows you to record video through the front camera simultaneously.
So far, Samsung rolled out a couple of new camera feature-packed firmware updates, which added multiple camera features from the latest Galaxy S21 flagship to the older flagships like the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series. However, these firmware update doesn’t bring the most awaited Director’s View feature.
Director’s View-like Dual Recording mode
Meanwhile, it looks like the South Korean tech giant has already delivered the Director’s View-inspired camera feature called “Dual Recording” to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series along with the recent May 2021 security updates.
When enabled, the Dual Recording mode allows the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 owners to record video from both the rear (primary) and front camera simultaneously.
If these smartphone owners have received the May 2021 security update, then you can easily find a newly added Dual Recording mode in the stock camera application. At the same time, it is still unclear whether Samsung will provide this feature to older flagships such as the Galaxy Note 10 and S10 as well as the Galaxy S20 FE.
