Samsung Galaxy S21 gets May 2021 security patch with Camera and Quick Share improvements
The Galaxy S21 series is the latest flagship offering from Samsung to date. These high-end S21 phones feature the most powerful Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 chips, One UI 3.1 on the top of Android 11 OS, iconic camera capabilities, and much more.
Back in March 2021, the Galaxy S21 smartphones had started getting the April 2021 security update over the air. With this update, the S21 series became the first to get the latest security patch, even before changing the calendar month. However, getting new security patches weeks ago is not a new or surprising thing for Samsung fans.
Now, as per the latest information, some Galaxy S21 Ultra users have received a new and hefty software update in select European countries, mainly in Germany. This update weighs around 1150MB and includes the most up-to-date security patch, improvements for camera performance, and more.
As per the changelog of this release, Samsung just released the May 2021 security patch to the Galaxy S21 Ultra owners. Since it’s an initial rollout the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ users will soon get the firmware, which will bring these changes and improvements.
Aside from this, the May 2021 update comes with enhancements for the Camera performance and Quick Share function. However, this FOTA weighs more than 1GB so it is suggested that you should download it over a Wi-Fi connection. You can check the PDA firmware versions and manual update steps below.
