Samsung Pay to support local currency of Gyeonggi province
Samsung Pay is one of the popular payment apps used worldwide. This platform is designed for online transactions in which users don’t need to bother about debit or credit cards. However, it can only be used in Galaxy smartphones.
Moreover, this app supports currencies of various countries so that users will not face any difficulty while doing online payments. But there are some regional currencies that still need to be supported in it.
To initiate this, the company is working with the various local provinces, especially in Korea that will enable online payment via Samsung pay. Therefore, the currency of Gyeonggi-do province will also be linked to Samsung Pay.

According to the info, Samsung Electronics has been working in Gyeonggi province to enable local currency payments via Samsung Pay. The company will optimize this app, allowing citizens of the 28 other cities and districts to pay via mobile phone.
To get this done, Samsung signed an agreement with Gyeonggi-do officials in which they will develop an easy platform for fast online transactions. So, this step will decrease the use of physicals cards while doing transactions and will promote digital payments method.
However, this platform will bring the Gyeonggi local currency to the Samsung Pay Simple Payment app. So that, Citizens will not face any problem while making payments at merchants, as they just need to touch their phones to the card while doing the payment process.
Lastly, the Gyeonggi local currency is reported to be linked with Samsung pay after the completion of the system verification process. Besides, this platform will be available in the coming months.
