Samsung Display begins smartphone display panels production in India
Samsung currently produces 70 percent of its displays from the plants located in South Korea, Vietnam, and China. These panels are used to make TVs, mobile phones, tablets, watches, etc. Now, it looks like this key component is also being manufactured in India.
According to the latest info, the Korean tech giant has started a new assembly line in India which is producing smartphone displays. The facility is located in Noida city where the company also runs the biggest smartphone manufacturing factory in the world.
Details of the new display manufacturing facility
This new arm of Samsung Display has started making mobile displays a few days back and now the firm will expand this process by sourcing local components for its devices. It is worth mentioning, the company not only increasing the manufacturing capacity but also promoting the Indian government initiative “Vocal for Local”.
Researchers said Samsung has some additional plans in which the company will ramp up the production via making IT displays as well. Therefore, this move will give a positive impact on the entire display ecosystem, providing enough opportunities to the smaller players.
“The move will give confidence to smaller players in the broader display ecosystem to come to India and set up operations. Samsung is one of the largest players. It gives a signal to the overall supply chain that this component is ready for manufacturing,” Tarun Pathak, associate director at Counterpoint Research said.
Lastly, Samsung makes the best displays in the world whether it is for smartphones, TVs, or other devices. So, for fulfilling the display demands, the company extensively opening new manufacturing units worldwide. The Noida facility is one of the outcomes of the hard work and it is expected that many more are going to be opened in the coming days.

Korean media reports that Samsung may increase the price of the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. Due to political turmoil, the Korean currency has significantly weakened to the US dollar.
The Galaxy S25 series could be affected by exchange rates. TSMC has already raised its production costs, and the rising value of the dollar has significantly increased chip purchase costs.

Qualcomm has increased the Snapdragon chipset’s pricing by up to 30%. This is due to the utilization of TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm fabrication process for the first time.
As all models tentatively use Snapdragon chips, a price hike seems unavoidable. However, freezing prices would significantly affect the company’s operating profit and revenue generation.
Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1299 in the US, while the S24 Ultra starts at $1399. There’s already a difference of $100, and another price bump would reduce Samsung’s storm.
