Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 to feature small cover display compared to its predecessor: Leak
After launching the Galaxy S21 series earlier this year, Samsung is preparing to unveil new foldable phones in the third quarter. However, the company is expected to introduce a number of folding smartphones including the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, and an affordable foldable too.
According to the information, a new leak revealed the display sizes of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is likely to feature a quite smaller outward display compared to its predecessor.
As reported, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is assumed to equip a 5.4-inch sAMOLED screen while the Fold 2 sports a 6.2-inch display. Moreover, its narrow aspect ratio (25:9) and resolution (2,260 x 816) are still matches with the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Except the Z Fold3 outer screen size which I haven't heard just yet, rest are match perfectly with what I heard and leaked (refering to the Z phones, and I haven't heard anything about OPPO/vivo foldable phones) pic.twitter.com/na9lbbtzs8

On the other hand, reports also revealed that Samsung has internally developed two double folding methods. One of them adopts a form of opening and closing similar to a card while the second uses a “Z” shaped folding method.
As of now, we suggest you take this information as a pinch of salt and we’ll encounter more and more leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming folding phones in the coming days. Lastly, the company is likely to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the third quarter of this year while an official confirmation is still awaited.

Flagship phones to get more pricey as Samsung hikes camera sensor prices

Camera-centric flagship smartphones could be expensive as Samsung has increased the price of ISOCELL image sensors. As camera sensors are one of the most expensive parts, it could increase the price of 2024 flagships.
While companies are working hard to improve the smartphone camera experience, flagship models with cameras as their core selling point are likely to become more expensive. The main reason is that Samsung has increased the price of its components.

The smartphone industry has slowed down over the past few years, leaving manufacturers involved in component production with excess inventory. Samsung is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of CMOS sensors, which are used in its own phones and those of other brands.
As the smartphone market slowly grows, Samsung has reportedly sent notices to phone manufacturers to increase the price of its imaging sensors by 25%. The new prices may take effect in early 2024. Samsung’s increase in the price of imaging sensors will mainly affect sensors of 32 million pixels and above.
This could force smartphone manufacturers to increase the cost of high-end smartphones. Meanwhile, Samsung’s rivals in the field, Sony and OmniVision, have yet to announce price increases.
