Samsung supplied OLED panels for Oppo Find X3 and OnePlus 9 Pro

Samsung Display provides cutting-edge display solutions around the world including its OLED panels. The company utilizes this display technology not only for smartphones, TVs, laptops, and monitors but also for smartwatches, VR, game consoles, and automotive applications. Moreover, it has also collaborated with various OEMs to expand its display market.

Recently, Samsung Display announced that it has supplied its OLED panels with an adaptive refresh rate to Chinese companies including Oppo and OnePlus. Both the companies implemented these OLEDs in their premium smartphones to use the functionality of its higher refresh with less power consumption.

Moreover, the 6.7-inch display that is supplied to Oppo is used in its Find X3 smartphone while OnePlus used this panel in its upcoming OnePlus 9Pro. Along with this, it is said that this new panel will consume 46% less power in comparison to the previous generation panel.

Oliver Zhang, Product Manager of OnePlus, said, “OnePlus is expected to provide consumers with a more rational and advanced experience through Samsung Display’s innovative low-power OLED technology.”

However, Samsung also claims that this display technology uses an adaptive refresh rate that can automatically adjust according to the use. For example, 120Hz is used in mobile games that require fast and smooth gameplay, while 60Hz for movies, 30Hz for emails, and 10Hz for static photos.

Apart from providing OLED panels to other companies, Samsung Display also optimizing its low-power OLED technology. So that its display will consume less power while used in the 5G devices by adjusting display brightness and refresh rate.
