According to the latest info, the Korean tech began rolling out the March 2021 security update for the Galaxy S9 series phones. This new firmware improves the system security and brings enhancements to the functions for a better overall user experience.

According to the latest security bulletin, this update brings fixes for 26 high and 4 critical levels of CVEs. Moreover, the company will send this new software update to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ phones in different batches, so it may take some time to available widely.

This update is based on Android 15 and One UI 7. Notably, these foldable devices are also eligible for the next major update, Android 16. The company might start the beta program later this month, and stable is expected to be released in September or October 2025.
Talking about the May 2025 security Patch, it fixes 58 high-level issues from Google’s Android security bulletin. No critical or moderate issues were found this month. The update includes all necessary patches to keep Galaxy devices secure, though some fixes were already included in earlier updates, and a few don’t apply to Galaxy phones.
In addition, Samsung added 20 of its own security fixes related to One UI, with 13 of them explained in detail. These updates further improve the safety and performance of Galaxy devices.
