Verizon rolling out One UI 3.1 update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

On February 18, 2021, Samsung announced its plan to deliver the One UI 3.1 features for the Galaxy Note 20, S20, Z Fold 2, and Z Flip devices. Following the announcement, these flagship phones have started getting the One UI 3.1 update in several regions including Europe and Asia. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is receiving this firmware update in the US.

According to the latest info, one of the top network carriers in the US – Verizon pushed a new software update to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 which brings the latest One UI 3.1 features. Users can identify it by release number F916USQU1DUB7. In order to enhance system security, this update also installs the February 2021 security patch.

One UI 3.1 Features:

Samsung One UI 3.1 for Verizon bounded Galaxy Z Fold 2 allows you to customize the shots that you want to capture using the Single Take function. In addition, the One UI 3.1’s Eye Comfort Sheild automatically adjusts the blue light based on the time of day to protect your eyes.

Apart from this, the One UI 3.1 also brings the ability to your Galaxy smartphone/tablet to extend it to your desktop PC using Samsung’s Wireless DeX feature. You just have to download the DeX app on your PC and simply connect both phone and PC to the same Wi-Fi network. Lastly, the compatible Galaxy Buds will seamlessly switch between your Galaxy phone and tablet running on One UI 3.1.

On the other hand, the carrier delivered some additional features to the Galaxy S20 phones such as Game Booster. The Game Booster optimizes the network connection and processor power for an increased gaming experience. Besides, all the incoming calls and notifications will be blocked when this feature is enabled.

HOW TO CHECK FOR UPDATES MANUALLY:

• From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps
  • Tap Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
• If your device finds a new software update:
  • Tap Download now.
• When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed.
  • Tap Install update.
