Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets December 2020 security update

Samsung’s older flagship smartphone of the Note lineup – Galaxy Note 9 is not listed to get the Android 11 based One UI 3.0 update but the company has not forgotten sending monthly security updates for these phones.

According to the information, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is now getting the December 2020 security patch that comes with a software version of N960FXXS6FTK3. This update is currently rolling out in Germany and will soon be available in other smartphone markets in the coming days/weeks.

Other than the latest security patch, this new firmware update for the Galaxy Note 9 brings system stability improvements and enhancements to its features as well as fixes some bugs.

However, Galaxy Note 9 was launched in August 2018. As per the updates policy of Samsung, the Galaxy Note 9 devices have already completed their regular monthly update lifecycle but the company is still providing the latest security patches every month.

After two years of its launching, the Galaxy Note 9 will get two more years of quarterly security update support. Adding to this, the One UI 2.5 is the last major update for these models, and they will not get a chance to experience the latest features with the One UI 3.0/Android 11 update.
