Samsung to launch new range of foldable phones next year, along with Galaxy Z Fold Lite

For a few days, we have been receiving some news regarding Samsung’s new technologies that the Korean tech giant is planning to use in the future foldable smartphones. And new information from South Korea has arrived that provides more details on the upcoming fold line up from the company.

As per the news, Samsung Display is currently working on three different types of foldable OLED panels that hint at three-fold models. The trio will reportedly consist of Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and a budget Galaxy Z Fold Lite with all three smartphones using the UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) display technology.

we have also received some more information about the display size of these upcoming phablets The Clamshell, Galaxy Z Flip 2 will feature a 6.7-inch primary display and a 3-inch external screen. comparing this smartphone with its predecessor, the internal display is the same while there is a difference of 1.1-inch with the external screen.

The other is the Galaxy Z Fold 3 that will be equipped with an internal screen size of 7-inch and a secondary display of 4-inches. This phablet will come with a UDC (Under Panel Camera) and with the support for a stylus. The company will be using LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) display technology for better power efficiency on the screen.

Coming to the Galaxy Z Fold Lite, as the name suggests, its a lite version that means a low budget model. This phone will feature a primary screen of 7-inches and a 4-inch external display. The Galaxy Z Fold Lite will hit the market in the first quarter of 2021 while the other two the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 will be launching in the third quarter of 2021.

Samsung Display is been working on new display technology to make the stylus work on the device without leaving a mark on the screen. Compared to the current Galaxy Fold 2 that comes with a thickness of 30 micrometers the company is aiming for a thickness of 60-100 micrometers but it makes the display less flexible. To make its work the Samsung is reportedly collaborating with a German company, LPKF.
