The South Korean tech giant arranged lots of efforts to apply the S Pen to the Fold series devices. To add the S Pen to the upcoming foldable smartphone Samsung Display and its subsidiary Dowoo Insys developed ultra-thin glass (UTG) technology by replacing transparent polyimide (CPI) film. After changing from plastic to tempered glass, the number of folds and unfolds remained the same.
Previous reports also reveal that Samsung is all set to destroy the precious Note series by putting the Fold series in its mainstream. The user experience will be increased with the large screen of the Fold series with the support of S Pen.
Adding to this, Samsung also working to place Under Display Camera to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to provide a true full-screen experience like a tablet PC. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Fold arrived with a notch display and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a hole punch camera design.
The Under Display Camera (UDC) is an innovative technology that lets to take pictures without a camera hole by placing a camera sensor under the OLED screen. Even, Samsung Display plans to apply a special technology that allows light to pass through and take pictures by spreading the gap between pixels in the part where the front camera is placed.
Still, installing UDC has a technical difficulty of declining the quality of screens and photos, then if the final result adversely affects the user experience, it may be excluded from the actual Galaxy Z Fold 3 mass production.
