Verizon rolling out October 2020 security update for Samsung Galaxy J3/J3 V and Galaxy J7/J7 V

Verizon has begun sending a new firmware update for Samsung Galaxy J3, J3 V, J7, and J7 V smartphones in the US. It comes with the latest security patch and system improvements.

The official changelog of these updates is the same for Samsung Galaxy J3, J3 V, J7, and J7 V. This software update provides the October 2020 security patch. Adding to this, it also brings performance improvements to increase the user experience.

Software versions:

  • Galaxy J3 – J337VPPVRU8BTI2
  • Galaxy J3 V – J337VVRU8BTI2
  • Galaxy J7 – J737VPPVRU8BTI2
  • Galaxy J7 V – J737VVRU8BTI2

Just recently, Verizon has also rolled out November 2020 security patch for the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. The tablets also got the 5G Nationwide access support which will show the 5G icon when they are in the carrier’s 5G Nationwide coverage area.

The current software update provides performance improvements and the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

To check for the latest update manually, follow the steps given below.

From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
