Samsung One UI animation to evolve with Galaxy S25 Ultra: Source

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could bring One UI animation evolution. Tipster IceUniverse highlights that the design changes of the next Ultra will benefit One UI’s animation aspect. It signals radical enhancements with the next iteration of Galaxy skin.

According to the info, the rounded corners of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will make One UI animation more natural. The current Ultra models have angular corners on both the phone’s display/frame and software rendering across the screen.

The tipster specifically talked about animation fluency while opening and closing apps. The icons in One UI are squircle (a shape between a square and a circle). Given angular corners, the icon’s fluency appears unnatural, but it will be changed soon.

Since the S25 Ultra is rumored to have rounded edges, the icons will be reworked too. The company may introduce an even more optimized fluency for app opening and closing animation. A similar screen edge and icon shape will result in natural animation rendering.

The input is based on natural software improvements based on hardware/shape changes. As the One UI version goes up, Samsung raises principal changes to the software. We expect all Galaxy devices will benefit from the changes are in Samsung’s pipeline.

Former Mercedes designer is leading Samsung’s design division. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is designed under the leadership of Hubert H. Lee. The company is expected to introduce its next-gen Galaxy design language with the Galaxy S25 series next year.

We haven’t heard anything about the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus design changes. Meanwhile, the Ultra variant is said to ditch the boxy design. The new design could be inspired by the Galaxy Note 7 with a frame aimed to be designed with easier handling.

Galaxy S25 series would debut One UI 7.1 software based on Android 15. The Korean tech giant will first bring One UI 7 to its current flagship and other eligible devices. The Beta Program is likely to be kicked off by the end of next month.
