As we know, WhatsApp is a messaging service owned by Facebook that lets you send text and voice messages, make voice and video calls, share images, videos, documents, live-location, and much more.
To provide the best user experience than any other messaging service, WhatsApp regularly keeps on adding new features to the application. It also runs a beta application program for the testing of new features and application improvements.
According to the latest information, WhatsApp is planning to replace the Archived Chats section with a new name called “Read Later” in the coming application update. Archived Chats feature allows you to temporarily hide a chat until a new notification arrives from the same contact.
WhatsApp wants to reduce user’s interruptions through the Read Later option. When this feature is turned ‘on’ the new messages will be muted and stayed in this section. If you don’t want to use this feature, you can just simply turn it off from settings.
How to join the WhatsApp beta program
- Open the Whatsapp beta test page on Google
- Log in to your Google account that you are using on your smartphone
- Then, click the ‘Become Beta Tester’ button
