Lost and theft devices may soon be covered under Samsung Care+

Having your premium Galaxy device lost or stolen is always a big deal for anyone, as this is not covered under Samsung Care+. But wait, Samsung might soon cover that for you. It was currently found that in the coming days you may also get covered if you accidentally lost your device or it is stolen.

This change was founded in the APK teardown of the Shop Samsung Android app with version 1.0.21465.

Currently, the Galaxy devices come with the basic manufacturer warranty that offers phone breakdown, walk-in and repairs at ASC center, 1-year battery warranty, and 24 hours remote diagnostics.

Here’s what the Samsung Care+ covers:

  • Extended Warranty – Covers technical & mechanical failure for 1 year.
  • Screen Protection – Covers front screen damage for 1 year.
  •  Accidental Damage & Liquid Damage – Covers accidental front & back screen damage & liquid damage for 1 year.
  •  Comprehensive Protection – Covers accidental physical & liquid damage (including screen) and technical or mechanical failure for 2 years.

As of now, the Cover+ does not include protection against loss and theft for any smartphone and also any devices with modified software or hardware.

However, Samsung could soon add protection for loss or theft of the Galaxy smartphones. Currently, the plan costs $3.99, $8.99, or $11.99 per month according to your device and what you want to cover. As of now, there is no information on what will be the cost of the Care+ plan after the addition of lost and theft covers and also when the company will add this.
